DEADLINE FOR TWIC CARD FULL REIMBURSEMENT IS MAY 30!!
Posted: Mar 01, 2008
REMINDER: To insure you are eligible for the full reimbursement for your TWIC Card, you must apply for the Card before May 30, 2008. After May 30, the amount you will be reimbursed decreases until the final September 2008 deadline.
Effective September 25, 2008, the Transportation Security Administration is requiring all mariners to have the Transportation Worker Identification Credential, or TWIC Card, to enter ports and certain secure areas commonly used within the dredging industry. There is a strong need for Local 25 members to obtain this TWIC Card. After the September deadline, contractors will have the right to refuse any member who doesn't have the TWIC Card.
Because of the importance of this Card, it has been agreed that any member in good standing who obtains this card will be reimbursed the cost of the Card.
